shes-a-riot:

Glenn Close acting drunk had me in tears tonight!

Seriously though, only a drunk person would pretend to be drunk and look like this.

One more time with the shoes! (Yes I could have made a photo set but I didn’t know there were more shots of her shoes!)

Evelyn Baker Lang’s shoes. There we have it, people. If you want to impress Josh, wear these.

Anon Request: Patty/Ellen, Miranda/Andy. Patty and Miranda do NOT want to go on a double date with the girlfriends.

Never before have I ever felt any real hint of shipping for Mirandy. And now I kind of want to watch Damages just because. My darling girl, it’s your fault for creating this gifset. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME? YOU’RE TURNING ME INTO A MONSTER, WOMAN!

A very cute monster :)

this is like the most perfect thing ever! *_*

30 Days of The West Wing: Day 9
Your favourite post-Sorkin episode: The Supremes

While I was tempted to go for Gaza simply for the opportunity to do a pretty Gaza edit, this one’s an easy win. The closest runners up, in my mind, would have been Shutdown and Liftoff but this episode is just outstanding. It’s a combination of Sorkin-esque sassy humour, the feminist in Josh and the political implications of the events. One thing I’ve always loved about The West Wing is its ability to flesh out guest stars in single or few episodes, and that is perfectly exhibited with the appearance of Evelyn Baker Lang and the even less featured, Christopher Mulready.

I love the debates within the episode - for example the argument of intensity (Josh) versus moderation (Toby). One of my favourite moments, as pro-choice, is the President’s response to discovering Lang is not on the shortlist for the Supreme Court because she had an abortion in law school (after 1973). “Are we discarding anybody else for legal activities? 27 million women voted for me. I think they might have had in mind that I was going to protect this particular right.” As a strident feminist, there’s also a certain thrill to having my beloved Josh say reasonably, “Mr President, the first woman in that chair…” as a temptation to get behind Lang, and likely make one of his final big political moves in office.

The ending too, with Toby and Molly’s 14th Amendment is a perfectly rounded one. Toby asking Evelyn Baker Lang, “Would you mind adding the title?” as she signs it is such a great moment.
